Mrs. Tennille, Founder and Past President of the Federation offers training classes in Canine Freestyle. Classes prepare the team for competition at all levels. Class work Includes developing each team to move; perform before others; and to prepare your presentations. She is the originator of the discipline of Canine Freestyle which she demonstrated by creating the original four in 1993 for the Cycle National Obedience Competitions. Through her seminars and conceptual training methods she has set the standards for the sport. Before dedicating her skills to moving the sport forward, Ms. Tennille was actively competing in other disciplines in the Sport of Dogs.

Durham Kennel Club (DKC), in cooperation with the Carolina Freestyle Guild, offers a two hour drop-in CanineFreestyle DogWork Class at the DKC Building one Saturday a month, beginning at ten am. The cost is $15 for each class. The DKC classes will be aimed toward newcomers who have not shown in Freestyle before. However, experienced handlers do participate and there will be time after class for practicing and run-throughs. In addition, we schedule DKC member work time to use the building for Freestyle practice; we set up a freestyle ring, with a sound system and have mentors available for cooperative training. Those times will be posted on the DKC Calendar and e-mails will be sent to DKC members on our regular mailing list.
